Frank O'Dowd

Frank has been involved in heavy equipment and earth moving since the mid 70's. In 1980 Frank took a position running a bulldozer with a construction company in California. This company had projects worldwide. Frank worked his way up through the ranks and became the youngest Construction Superintendent in the company.

Frank managed heavy earth moving projects as large as 20 million cubic yards that were completed in less than 2 years in countries such as France, Thailand, Korea and also many States within the U.S.

In 1990 Frank returned to New York and worked as a Project Manager for 3 years. In 1993 Frank formed Intergolf Construction and returned to Asia to help manage large development projects with emphasis on golf course construction with former clients from his days traveling.

Returning to the North East, Intergolf Construction worked on golf course projects in the 9 North Eastern States and was consistently asked to provide road construction, sewer system, utility installation and foundation excavation as additional work orders on to the golf course contracts.

In 2002 Frank decided to form IDI Excavation to handle the development side of the golf course contracts. He brought in his brother John, whom has been in this end of the industry for 20 years.

 

John O'Dowd

John started his career in the early 80's working on construction projects in London, England and Berlin, Germany.

In 1982 John returned to New York and took a position as a foreman with Intercity Construction. John worked his way up to the position of Project Manager with this general contracting company.

In 1990 John took a position as Project Manager with The Stegla Group doing school construction. From there, he joined Bovis in the same position on school construction projects in the New York City area.

In 1997 John was offered an opportunity to return to London, England to manage a 1,000 Home Development outside London. He completed this project in 2 years. John was not ready to leave London just yet and took a Project Management position with The McAlpine Group, an international construction company building the Millennium Dome. John managed the construction of the power distribution center for the Millennium Dome and when that was complete he managed the construction of the Exhibition Center.

In 2001 John returned to New York and took a position as Vice President with JC Contracting, managing all the excavation and demolition projects.

In 2003 John came on board with IDI Excavation as Vice President and is in charge of growing the company.
